You have no idea how much I dislike it when a .NET Framework assembly is called an "assambleya" in Russian. It is an ugly calque from English that has nothing to do with the word’s actual meaning in Russian.
In fact, the word assembly in this sense is translated as: СБОРКА.

Last Saturday, I talked my colleagues into dragging their bikes out of the closet for a mega-botanical ride to Laucesa. Word has it there are Dižkoki there, meaning huge ancient trees, plus it’s close by, which is why I decided to head in that exact direction. We rolled out at 13:30 and barely covered any distance - 44 km. We rode like pensioners - stopping every three kilometers. But on the bright side, it seems no one got completely exhausted, so they’ll come along next time too, which was my sneaky goal all along.
We didn't make it to the mega-trees, my comrades just didn't have enough juice left.

I haven't been writing anything for various reasons.
First I was reading books by the Dyachenkos.
Then I was watching Battlestar Galactica.
Then I was riding my bike, eating shashlik, going to the gym and all that.
Also my Siemens C65 phone is almost dead: it turns on on the tenth try and turns off every half hour. So I'm preoccupied with picking a device. I'm thinking of saying "fuck" to the sharks of Western capitalism and risking my health by buying a Chinese clone. I hate to spend the money, honestly: I need the phone to make calls and look at bike maps a little bit, so why pay for marvels of engineering? The only thing is I kind of want GPS, to see where I'm rolling.
Meanwhile:
Gugiens resurrected from the virtually-dead and discovered that Tricky has released an album. The album, by the way, is good, and the song Veronika blows my mind. So go download it, you won't regret it.
jjjben went off to the Dominican Republic and discovered that the amenities are obvious. True, they've got rain and hurricanes over there right now, but in Riga it's no better.
